EUROmilling is proud to be part of the groundbreaking development in biochar production, highlighted in a recent article by Bioenergy International: "NSR closes the circle with novel biochar plant" by Alan Sherrard. The article showcases the new biochar plant, presented during the International Biochar Summit in Helsingborg, Sweden.
As a key supplier of components to NSR's biochar plant, EUROmilling is delighted to contribute with our advanced technology, which includes the reception, grinding, screening, drying, and intermediate storage of biomass. Our unique air-heat exchangers and energy-efficient grinding and drying process, utilizing heat from a hot water loop, are critical elements in the plant's success.
The biochar plant, the largest of its kind in Sweden, has the capacity to produce around 1,500 tons of biochar annually from approximately 7,000 tons of biomass, sequestering up to 3,000 tons of CO2. The generated heat contributes to Helsingborg's district heating network, providing warmth to about 700 households.
